From Necessity to Innovation

Rainette began in 2018 during Mumbai's particularly fierce monsoon season. Our founder, Aanya Sharma, experienced firsthand the frustration of umbrellas collapsing in strong winds and raincoats that prioritized function over fashion.

With her background in textile engineering and passion for design, Aanya assembled a team of artisans and engineers who shared her vision for rain protection that would withstand India's monsoon season while maintaining an elegant aesthetic.

2018

Rainette founded in Mumbai with a small workshop of five artisans.

2019

First collection launched. WindShield Technology patent filed.

2021

Expanded to three flagship stores across India. HydroRepel Fabric introduced.

2023

International expansion begins with partnerships in Southeast Asia.

Today
